Nomadic Work/Life in the Knowledge Economy (2008-2012)

  07 July 2015

Network members may be interested in this recent project which investigated new forms of work and professional practice in the context of high-tech, finance, research and other ICT-centred industries in Ireland. Among other key issues, the project investigated how mobility and nomadic work practices affected non-work activities and their gendered implications. The team conducted three in-depth qualitative studies of three cohorts of knowledge-intensive professionals: academics, self-employed creative workers, and managers of high-tech companies. The project co-directors were Dr Luigina Ciolfi (Computer Science) and Dr Breda Gray (Sociology) both at the University of Limerick (Ireland). Key publications can be found here.
